October 31, 2025Enhancing Stormwater Capacity
Over the last ten months, our specialist teams at GVG Group have been working in collaboration with Avove Utilities on behalf of Severn Trent, delivering a major programme of improvements to enhance the region’s existing sewage network.
Expanding Capacity and Protecting Local Watercourses
The project involved the development and installation of over 100 new storage tanks, adding approximately 10,000m³ of additional capacity to the existing system.
Each tank has been carefully designed to capture excess flows during storm events, preventing spills and safeguarding local watercourses from pollution. This increased capacity will play a vital role in improving network resilience and supporting Severn Trent’s ongoing commitment to creating cleaner rivers and a healthier environment.
Fast, Efficient Delivery
Our teams have delivered these works with exceptional efficiency, completing multiple complex installations across the network within tight timescales.
The time-lapse video below showcases our most recent and largest project to date — an installation adding 1,100m³ of new storage completed in just five weeks from start to finish.
Building for a Sustainable Future
At GVG Group, we’re proud to play a key role in helping utilities providers deliver sustainable, environmentally responsible infrastructure. Through collaboration, innovation, and technical expertise, we continue to support our clients in achieving their long-term environmental goals while maintaining high standards of safety and quality across every project.
